Sacred Journeys - Detail

Dates: Sunday, October 22nd through October 29th, 2017



  • Residence in a stunning Spanish casa on a thriving olive farm in Andalucia, Spain

  • Beautiful double occupancy (most with private bathrooms, first come basis)

  • Transportation to and from the airport in Malaga (or train station in Antequerra)

  • Transportation to all scheduled destinations & excursions during the trip

  • Excursions - Two days will be spent in the city of Granada, rich in history.  Your investment includes your ticket to Alhambra, a guided tour of Sacromonte and a traditional bath at Hammam Andalucia. The visit to Alhambra will be a stand alone visit.  Sacromonte and the Hammam will occur on the same date and you will have time to wander the beautiful city of Granada.

Investment - The investment for the 7 days is $2479, if paid in full (a $500 discount)

or 3 equal installment investments of $993:

Payment I: Non-refundable deposit of $993 to secure your space

Payment II - $993 due one month after deposit or latest September 1st, 2017

Payment III- $993 due two month after deposit or latest September 15th, 2017

Excludes international airfare to Malaga (AGP). Roundtrip flights from NYC to Malaga start around $550.

Cancellation Policy - The deposit is non-refundable.  Balances unpaid on due dates are deemed cancellations unless notified in writing before the due date.  Cancellations before September 15th, 2017, installment payments are non refundable. Cancellations before September 15th, 2017 for paid in full investments, 30% of Payment is refunded.  No refunds will be made on or after September 15th, 2017.  


Travel documents - Valid passport (expiration date should not be within three months of travel)


Accommodations - Participants reside in double occupancy (most with private bathrooms, first come basis).  There is an surcharge for single accommodations and it may not be available.  Laundry is available.  


Dietary Requirements - Participants will have three meals a day, locally sourced and designed to complement the program.  If you have special dietary needs, please provide that information on the forms provided.


Clothing - Light colored clothing is recommended and sensible shoes.  The climate will be warm during the days (80s during days, 50s in evening/night).  Layers are suggested.


Recommended supplies:

New journal and favored writing utensils (including colored pencils)

Backpack and water bottle

Sun protection lotion and clothing

Swim suit


Clothing for varied temperature

Shoes for uneven terrain and comfortable sandals

Pack light.  There is insufficient space in vehicles and in rooms for large bags.


Health/Travel Insurance - Participants are required to provide evidence of Comprehensive travel/health insurance.  In the event of an emergency, Virgin de la Nieves hospital in Granada, highly regarded throughout Europe, is located within 20 minutes (1 hour from house).  


Liability - All participants are required to sign a release.

Arrival day and Departure day: Check-in on October 22nd is from 4 to 6pm. Dinner from 6-7 and evening program 7-9. We are finishing on October 29th at 9am the program.


Suggested Trip Extension - Should you decide to extend your visit in Spain, some recommended destinations nearby include:


Malaga - 1 hour by car.  1 or 2 night visit recommended.

Seville - 2 hours by car or car/train from Antequerra.  2 or 3 night visit recommended.

Madrid - 2.5 hour AVE Train from Antequerra - 2 or 3 night visit recommended.

Nerja - 30 minutes north/east of Malaga by car - 1 or 2 night visit recommended.

Southern Spain is also a gateway to Northern Africa and many travelers combine their visit with a trip to Morocco.
